Dentists
Dr Louise Winters
B.D.Sc Hons (U.W.A.) MRACDS
Continued learning is a priority for Louise, frequently attending post-graduate education courses and meetings. Her professional memberships include the Australian Dental Association, The International Team for Implantology, The Dental Study Group of Western Australia and is a member of The Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons. She has also tutored and examined dental students at UWA and is an official mentor for membership candidates of the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons.
Born and bred in Perth, Louise lives up the road in Como with her husband Josh and young son Hugo. She has a love of travel, cooking, and has been riding and competing horses since the age of seven.
Dr Simon Shanahan
Simon grew up in the City of South Perth, living in Salter Point and attended Aquinas College. He and Milly have loved raising their two sons, both attending Wesley College from Kindy. Simon graduated from UWA Dental School in 1985 and opened Southbridge Dental in 1993 with a mission to provide comprehensive quality oral care to the local community. That was thirty years ago!
As a highly respected and trustworthy dentist, Simon is heavily involved in organisations that regulate the dental profession across the country. Simon was appointed to the national Dental Board of Australia in 2021. In 2016, Simon also served as president of the Dental Study Group of WA, the oldest study group in the region.
Simon has been honoured with Fellowships in the Academy of Dentistry International (ADI), the International College of Dentistry and the Pierre Fauchard Academy. Simon is currently Regent of the ADI Australasian Section. Simon also studied English Literature at Curtin University obtaining first class honours in 2002.
Dr Millicent Woon
B.D.Sc (U.W.A.) F.A.D.I
Millicent “Milly” Woon has been passionately working as a dentist since 1993. Drawn to the profession by her desire to help people, Milly finds the job to be really rewarding when she can transform somebody’s smile or relieve their pain. She has a particular enthusiasm for aesthetic dentistry, and enjoys providing cosmetic procedures such as Botox and dermal fillers, especially lips fillers and reducing fine facial lines. Since 2017 her cosmetic practice has grown, and her experience is extensive. Her fantastic results enhance the facial appearance with discreet and natural youthful improvements. Her experience with Botox extends to relief of jaw pain associated with clenching and grinding.
Milly has been a member of the Dental Study Group of Western Australia since 1999. She served on the committee for many years and as President in 2006. The “DSG” is the oldest group in WA, it was established in 1954. Milly was honoured to receive her Fellowship in the International College of Dentistry in 2016. She was also appointed a Fellow of the Academy of Dentistry International in 2002.
Milly loves to give back and has volunteered for cooking projects with organisations including Ronald McDonald House and Manna House. She also volunteers as a dentist with the Kimberley Dental Team in remote indigenous communities and for Equal Health abroad.
Milly is married to Simon and loves spending time with their two sons. She is also passionate about cooking, especially traditional Asian cuisine. She is also an avid reader, walks to keep fit and loves racquet sports.
Dr Lee Jasson
Dr. Lee Jasson graduated from the University of WA with a Bachelor of Dental Science in 1994. Once completing her degree, Lee commenced work as a relief dentist for Dental Health Services filling roles in Fremantle, Busselton and Bunbury. After growing up in the country, her passion for the Pilbara and a country lifestyle drew her back to Port Hedland and Karratha where she embarked on her career in Private Practice. Owning her own practice in Karratha for 14 years enabled her to grow and develop as a general dentist gaining invaluable experience in all aspects of dentistry and business management.
On returning to Perth with her husband and young family in 2010, Lee was delighted to join the team at Southbridge Dental working part time while raising her family. Lee gave her time to be a final year tutor from 2012-2015 at The Oral Health Centre of WA (UWA). Lee is an active member in the ITI/Straumann WA Study Group and a member of the Dental Study Group of WA since 2012 where she has been a voluntary committee member as President in 2023, Secretary/Treasurer in 2022 and committee member since 2019. Lee’s interests include keeping fit and active, travel, fishing, camping and love of the outdoors. She has been actively involved in her teenage daughters’ wide range of sporting clubs/activities and enjoys watching and supporting them along the way. Lee is a gentle, caring and professional clinician with a keen interest in preventative and restorative dentistry.
